Summer Bridge program closing ceremony
The Educational Opportunity Program Summer Bridge closing ceremony is noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 at the Alumni Center. Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Joseph F. Sheley will give the welcome.

This is the 22nd year Sacramento State has sponsored the EOP Summer Bridge Program, which helps increase retention by helping incoming first-year students to make a smooth transition from high school to college. The Summer Bridge Program offers a six-week comprehensive summer program that includes academics, new student orientation, academic advising and counseling and a leadership course. This was the largest class of participants in the program’s history. Approximately 173 historically disadvantaged, first-generation, first-time freshmen students were selected to participate in the program.
