Summer Hours
Summer office hours (7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a half-hour lunch) will continue
through Friday, Aug. 25. A return to regular business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
with an hour lunch) will begin Monday, Aug. 28.
Commute Choices
With the anticipated difficult parking and traffic conditions on campus this
fall, alternate transportation is a good option, even part time. Using alternate
transportation just one day a week can provide cost savings on gas, reduce traffic
congestion and pollution from vehicle emissions and help to improve the campus
parking condition. Visit www.csus.edu/utaps/commute_choices.htm
to view Sac State Commute Choices or call 278-PARK.
Transportation Advisory Committee opening
There is a staff vacancy on the Transportation Advisory Committee effective
Oct. 1. This committee addresses parking, traffic management and campus shuttle
service issues as well as alternative transportation matters. To serve on this
committee, secure your supervisor's permission and forward your name and e-mail
to Kem Albert, on behalf of Vice President Stephen G. Garcia, at kem@csus.edu
by Sept. 6, 2006. For more information, e-mail or call Albert at 278-5809.
CMS campus forums
The CMS Project Office will be hosting campus forums to provide the latest information
on the student administration implementation. The forums will be held on Tuesday,
Aug. 22, from 11 a.m. to noon and Thursday, Aug. 24, from 3 to 4 p.m., in the
University Union Foothill Suite. For more information call Deborah Hobbs at
278-3701.
Construction update The Infrastructure II utilities upgrade project continues in various
locations. Sanitary sewer pipe installation will close first the Facilities/Reprographics
Lot, then Lot 1 between Facilities Services and the Health Center later in the
week. Work on the steam and chilled water pipe installation may at times disrupt
traffic to Lot 5 and 6, south of the University Union. Access to both lots will
remain open. The bicycle path improvements project will begin on Monday Aug.
21. Intermittent delays may occur on State University Drive West.
