Campus Announcements

Campus community participation encouraged in strategic plan discussions
The Strategic Planning Council is inviting the campus community to participate in Phase 2 of the revision of Sacramento State's Strategic Plan. In the spring of 2007, the campus community engaged in a series of discussions of our "core values"—Phase I of the process. Relying on feedback regarding those values and other criteria, the Strategic Planning Council has drafted a set of Foundation Goals upon which our Strategic Plan should rest.

The month of September will be devoted to discussing the Foundation Goals, and most the fall semester to producing a recommended Strategic Plan (goals, implementation, measurement of outcomes, and timelines) for the president's approval. The Plan will then form the basis of strategic planning at the level of the various organizational and governance units that make up the University. The Council will move very rapidly into unit-level planning at the beginning of the spring 2008 semester.

To read the Phase 2 Foundation Goals document and to gain a fuller sense of the process by which the Strategic Plan will be formed over the next few months, please visit SPC's web page at and click on "Foundation Goals." An announcement of the discussion dates and venues occurring in September will be forthcoming.
