  May 2011

New science degree is paying off for grads
Among the degree recipients at Sacramento State's spring Commencement will be eight graduates of a unique new master's program who have already lined up scientific jobs. The successful Professional Science Master's degree was born of a partnership between Sacramento State's Department of Biological Sciences and the UC Davis Stem Cell Program.

The program, which places students in full-time staff positions in the State Legislature, executive branch and court system, was evaluated and honored by, a career management research and information website.

Meet Sacramento State's Magnificent Seven
This year's Dean's Award winners, representing Sacramento State's seven colleges, are outstanding students, of course, but they also have inspiring life stories of commitment, achievement and perseverance against the odds.
