Housing and Residential Life
Whether on or off campus, a student’s choice of where to live is an important one that will shape his or her day-to-day experiences at Sacramento State. Ask your son or daughter to consider living on campus. Research shows that students who do so have higher graduation rates than students who do not, and students who live on campus report feeling more connected to the university. For more information visit Housing and Residentail Life's Parent and Family Webpage.
Sacramento State has six coed residence halls on campus. In addition to immediate access to campus resources, students who live on campus participate in a campus meal plan and may eat at the Dining Commons near the residence halls or at other eateries around campus. Each residence hall has:
- Air conditioning
- Laundry facilities
- Computer labs
- Wireless Internet access
- Security cameras
- Electronic front door access
- Customer service desks
- Community kitchens
- Cable TV with free streaming movies
- Recreational areas, and much more
Sacramento State works with Upper Eastside Lofts, an auxiliary corporation that partners with the University, to offer affordable off-campus housing that is within walking distance of the campus. There are also many non-campus-affiliated apartments nearby with convenient access to the University.
