The California Assembly has requested assistance from the Center for California Studies at California State University, Sacramento to research factors influencing participation in early childhood education programs in California.

The Senate Office of Research has requested assistance from the Center for California Studies at California State University, Sacramento to research the factors influencing per capita vehicle-miles traveled (VMT) in California.

The California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission (CDIAC)  has requested assistance from the Center for California Studies at California State University, Sacramento to develop a theoretical model of bond defaults by municipalities. This study has been awarded to Dr. Matthew J. Holian, Department of Economics, San Jose State University and Marc D. Joffe, Principal Consultant, Public Sector Credit Solutions.
