I Am Therefore I Think

Kelley Royere, Marymount High School - 10th grade

I feel this picture represents California because you can be whatever and whoever you want to be. What is California to me? Well, here it is! California for me is shown in this photograph. The colors represent the diversity and many different types of people there are in this beautiful state. The light and brightness show the weather part of California. It's always sunny in California and always stands out. There are vivid colors and different moods throughout the people. Here shows three different people: two guys and one girl. They are just standing there doing their own thing. Their expressions say, "This is me, and this is where I'm from." They don't care what people think because it's who they are and where they belong. No one should care what others think; what you think is the most important thing. The background in this image shows a mural of religions. Here, in this place, anything is possible. Everyone is open to everything. This also shows an everyday life. These people are doing their daily routing and what they feel like doing. In California, you can be whatever and whoever you want to be. California for me is home for me where I can be whoever I want to be and be accepted in a place where I feel comfortable. We are who were are, I am who I am, and you are who you are. This is California through my eyes.
