WORKSHOPS AND PRESENTATIONS

The Career Center offers workshops and presentations on a variety of topics. Some of the workshops are pre-scheduled prior to the beginning of the semester; the majority are scheduled after receiving a request from a student group or faculty member. The workshops are held in the Career Center, unless otherwise noted. Check the events calendar for specific dates.

ON-CAMPUS RECRUITMENT (OCR) WORKSHOP

Increase your chances of getting a job before graduation! Over 300 employers will conduct on-campus interviews with Sacramento State students because they are specifically interested in you. To interview on-campus you must be registered with the Career Center via MonsterTrak.com. If you're a graduating student, from a grad or undergrad program, you must attend the OCR workshop before you can be scheduled for an interview on-campus. To learn how to use MonsterTrak.com you must attend a workshop.

MOCK INTERVIEWS

Real practice, real employers, real questions. Improve your interview skills with professional interviewers who will videotape a mock interview and then give you valuable feedback (and the tape) on how to improve your interviewing skills or how to capitalize on your natural talents. If you are a graduating student or an alumni (one year out), you're eligible to sign up for a Mock Interview. Sign-ups are in the Career Center. A completed resume is required to sign-up. Mock Interviews are scheduled for the last week of September and then again the last week of February. Check the Events page for specific dates.

RESUMES AND RESUMANIA

Students seeking advice on resume writing or would like their resume reviewed may use the Career Center's Walk in Services.

Resumania, an event held each semester, gives students the opportunity for an on-the-spot resume critique by an employer. Click here for dates and location.
