Events & Workshops

The Career Center hosts programs, career fairs and other events throughout the year to connect Sacramento State students and alumni with employers and career development opportunities. Mark your calendar today for these upcoming events! Events are open to all Sacramento State students and alumni. 

Individuals needing reasonable accommodations are to contact the Career Center at 916-278-6231 or at least 5 business days before the event.

Helpful Tips to Prepare for an Event:

  1. Research companies that are attending the event by visiting their website
  2. Prepare your resume and bring copies to the event
  3. Prepare a short background statement on your education and experience
  4. Develop questions to ask an employer at the event
  5. Dress professionally or business casual when meeting with employers

Arts & Letters Professional Seminar Series (February 7 - March 14)

The Career Center in collaboration with the College of Arts and Letters present the Arts & Letters Professional Series.  Hear from industry experts on career preparedness strategies for students majoring in the arts and letters disciplines. Learn tips and tools on how to prepare for your career.  One unit of academic credit and/or a Certificate of Professional Development available.

C2C Internship Academy (February 23, March 2, March 9, March 16, March 23)

The College to Career (C2C) internship Academy provides Sacramento State students and alumni with essential career readiness training and the opportunity for students to network with employers who are looking for interns. This academy connects Sacramento State students and alumni with a variety of Sacramento-area employers who are seeking the next generation of employment talent. Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Network with other new professionals seeking career-oriented employment.
  • Make personal contacts with Sacramento-area employers who will share information about their industry as well as their own personal career journey.
  • Receive priority consideration to interview with these employers for a potential paid internship.

Students must commit to attend the 20-hour internship academy and will receive a certificate of completion.

When: February 23, March 2, March 9, March 16, March 23

Kaiser Volunteer Program Informational (March 3)

JCPenney Suit-Up Event (March 4)

Sac State Career Center is partnering up with JCPenney store in Arden Mall to host a Suit-Up Event. The store will offer students and alumni the opportunity to shop for career wear at discounted prices. This private event is open exclusively to Sac State students and alumni.

One-on-One Resume Review: Tips from the Experts (March 6)

Learn and receive tips from top employers and professionals on how to shine on your resume using your academic work, projects, work experience, volunteer work, activities and leadership.

All Majors Career Fair (April 3)

Looking for a job or internship? Attend the Spring 2018 All Majors Career Fair on Tuesday, April 3rd in the Union from 10AM - 2PM. Over 100 Employers will be recruiting for full-time, part-time, internship, and volunteer opportunities. Open to both students and alumni from ALL majors. Please dress professionally and bring copies of your resume. While at the fair, please stop by the LinkedIn Photo Booth to have a professional portrait taken for FREE.

Internship Awareness Week (April 23 – April 27)

Internship Awareness Week (IAW) provides students with a great opportunity to hear from employers about their internship opportunities! Attend these presentations to find out how to apply and more!

The week ends with the culminating event, the Fun in the Sun Internship Fair , on Friday, April 27 th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, in the Library Quad. This event attracts our top employers who are offering summer internships and allows our students to network with employers while looking for internships related to their academic disciplines.

Where : Presentations will be held in the University Union, Orchard Suite (2 nd Floor)

Time: There will be 2 presentations each day, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM
