Events & Workshops

The Career Center hosts programs, career fairs and other events throughout the year to connect Sacramento State students and alumni with employers and career development opportunities. Mark your calendar today for these upcoming events! Events are open to all Sacramento State students and alumni. 

Individuals needing reasonable accommodations are to contact the Career Center at 916-278-6231 or careercenter@csus.edu at least 5 business days before the event.

Helpful Tips to Prepare for an Event:

  1. Research companies that are attending the event by visiting their website
  2. Prepare your resume and bring copies to the event
  3. Prepare a short background statement on your education and experience
  4. Develop questions to ask an employer at the event
  5. Dress professionally or business casual when meeting with employers
Spring 2017 Events

Educator Recruitment Expo

Over 100 school districts and private/public educational organizations will be at this event recruiting for full-time, part-time, internship and volunteer positions in the education field!

When: Tuesday February 7, 2017 / 10 am - 2 pm

Arts & Letters Professional Seminar Series (ALPSS)

Hear from industry experts on career preparedness strategies for students majoring in the arts and letters disciplines. Learn tips and tools on how to prepare for your career. A sample of last year’s topics included Experiential Learning through Internships and Jobs, Personal Branding and Networking, Linking Your Major to a Career, Leveraging a Job Search through Social Media, Starting a Business, and Effective Resume and Cover Letter Writing. Register now to earn one unit of academic credit and/or a certificate of completion!

When: Thursdays, February 9, 16th, 23rd & March 2nd, 9th and 16th, 2017 / 9 am - 11: 30 am

Ready, Set, Resume!

Get tips from an expert at our "Ready, Set, Resume!" event! This is your chance to meet with an employer for a resume review! This event is open to all students and alumni.

All Majors Career Fair

This will be an opportunity for you to meet with over 100 employers hiring for full-time and part-time positions as well as internship opportunities!
This event is open to ALL majors and alumni! Professional dress and resume are expected.

Internship & Job Search Strategies Workshop

If you are looking for an internship or job, then this workshop is for you! Learn about all of the services the Career Center has to offer to help you find these opportunities and how you can be strategic with your internship and job search.

When: Tuesday, March 7th / 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

On-Campus Interviews (OCI) 

On-Campus Interviews (OCI) provides current Sac State students and Sac State Alumni the opportunity to interview with regional and area employers who visit the Career Center during the Fall and Spring semesters. Full-time jobs and paid internships, primarily in business and technical fields, are offered through the program.

When: March 1st - May 5th

Resumes and Cover Letters Workshops

This workshop will teach you how to shine on paper through your cover letter and resume. Whether you are just starting or want to improve your documents, this workshop is for you! You will take away samples and excellent tips from our professional staff.

When: Wednesday, March 15th / 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Health Careers Exploration Fair

Meet with over 30 healthcare professionals from organizations, community agencies, graduate and certificate programs! This event is open to all majors and alumni!

The week’s activities includes presentations by employers and professionals regarding internship opportunities, how to find internships, and what it takes to be a successful intern. Remember, it’s all about the experience!
