Spring 2011 in Review...

"Public Service Career Launch" flier

Public Service Career Launch was a job search group for graduating seniors and recent alumni seeking employment in the government and non-profit sector.

Group sessions were held March 29 - April 26 and covered:

  • Strategic Job Search – Finding a Fit in Government (PPT)
  • Breaking the Code – Uncovering and Understanding Job Postings (PPT)
  • Making it Count – Creating a Resume, Cover Letter, and Application (PPT)
  • Sealing the Deal – Preparing for a Successful Interview (PPT)
  • Next Steps – Preparation for Government Mixer; Review/Assessment (PPT)

Twenty students from various majors completed the academy and were honored in a graduation ceremony during the Spring Government Mixer. See a power point highlighting academy participants here (note: some slides have been removed at the request or participants)

Spring Government Mixer

The Spring 2011 Government Mixer, held on Tuesday May 3 from Noon-3pm, brought together almost 200 students and 40 agency representatives!
