WHAT IS
CAREER CONNECTION?
Career Connection is a web-based,
integrated on-campus recruiting system. This on-line system is available
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Graduating seniors and 1st priority alumni
can see which companies are scheduled to visit campus, view the companies'
job descriptions, submit an on-line resume, sign up for interviews,
and print an interview schedule from any computer with Internet access.

TYPES OF
INTERVIEWS
There are two types of interviews - Open and/or Invite.
A schedule typically consists of 12 interviews of 30 minutes each.
Open: Open Schedules are those schedules
for which you may sign-up when you meet the stated requirements in regard
to degree level, major, graduation date, citizenship and grade point
average (if required). During the specified time period you will be
able to access the "sign-up" button at the bottom of the job
description. Have your calendar ready, and then choose a time slot.
After selecting a time slot, it is imperative that you then submit your
resume.
Invite: A preselect, or invite, schedule
is one in which students meeting the employer's requirements may submit
a resume on-line. The employer will review the submitted resumes; students
who best meet the needs of the employer will be preselected. These preselected
candidates may be contacted by the employer via e-mail and instructed
to sign-up on line for an interview.

INVITE SCHEDULE
A screened schedule or portion of a schedule formed
by the recruiter. If a company has chosen to have an INVITE schedule,
it will be indicated on the Job Description. Preview screen under the
Qualifications section.
Here is how it works:
- If students are unable to get on the Open Schedule,
they may email their resume to the recruiter by the designated date
(if deadline is not indicated, send resume by the last day of the
open sign-up period for that particular schedule).
- The recruiter will then select the students who
best meet the needs of the employer.
- The recruiter will be responsible for contacting
the selected candidates via email or telephone to schedule an interview
appointment.
- The interviews will be held at the Career Center
located in Lassen Hall, Room 1013
