
MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION The Master of Business Administration (MBA) provides a management education that is extensive and broadening while allowing the student to select fields for specialization. The MBA program is designed to improve the participant's capacity for effective decision-making, to facilitate professional growth and development for increasing managerial responsibility, and to broaden his/her knowledge and understanding of the functional areas of management. The MBA program requires 33 units and is composed of three parts:
The required Core Classes set the framework for the MBA program by leading students through the major business domains: Accounting, International Management; Marketing, Finance, Operations, Information Systems, and Organizational Behavior. Elective courses allow students to customize their programs either by choosing individual courses that match his/her interests or by choosing the designated courses for one of five concentrations: Finance, Human Resources Management, Management Computer Applications, Managerial Accounting, and Marketing. Finally, each student demonstrates his/her integrative capabilities via a Culminating Experience with the choice of a Thesis, Project, or Comprehensive Examination. |

240 Management Accounting Elective Courses (9 units) Elective courses may be chosen from a broad array of graduate Business Administration classes (see the Joint Degree Programs page), courses that satisfy a Concentration (see the Concentrations page), non-business graduate classes (6 units maximum), or supervisory coursework (6 units maximum; 3 units of Internship [295], 3 units of Special Problems [299]).
