Charlotte Chorneau is an Associate Mediator and Facilitator who joined the Center in July 2007. Ms. Chorneau's public policy mediation practice spans a wide range of projects and subject matters. Specializing in process design, especially for large scale outreach projects, Ms. Chorneau has supported such efforts as the California Complete Count, Census 2010 Outreach Project on behalf of the Governor's Office of Planning and Research.
Ms. Chorneau has an extensive background in applying consensus building and collaborative approaches to natural resources, healthcare and climate change planning. Her project work includes the California Department of Water Resources' California Water Plan, the Urban Water Use Efficiency Program, the Governor's Water Use Efficiency 20x2020 Plan, FloodSAFE, and the Central Valley Flood Management Program.
Through her communications and outreach background, she advises clients on approaches to best reach and collaborate with diverse audiences across California. Ms. Chorneau facilitated a multi-party collaborative negotiation of a water use efficiency regulation for the Department in 2010, resulting in standards for process water use in California.
Ms. Chorneau has also supported numerous Strategic Planning efforts for clients such as the Office of the Patient Advocate, Department of State Parks and Off Highway Vehicles, Department of Corporations, and Yolo County. Her strong written communication skills allow her to work with clients in summarizing both internal and stakeholder developed content into succinct and well written action plans.
Training is another area of great interest and Ms. Chorneau has assisted the Center in providing facilitation and mediation training for clients including the State Water Resource Control Board.
Ms. Chorneau graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in History and Communications. Ms. Chorneau was appointed to the American Society for Public Administration Sacramento Chapter Board in 2010. She is a member of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals in Sacramento. As a member of the Active 20-30 Club of Greater Sacramento she is involved with charity organizations in the Sacramento Region.
