Edward Navarro

Edward Navarro joined the Center in 2006 as a special consultant. Mr. Navarro currently works on development of the Statewide Strategic Plan for the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Off Highway Vehicle Division. As a consultant, he specializes in strategic planning, human resource development, succession planning, and grants research and development. He has extensive experience with Native American organizations, local communities, and other groups related to project design and development.

Mr. Navarro has a distinguished career in the public sector. Prior to becoming a consultant, Edward managed a local historic site for the City of Los Angeles. He has 25 years of experience with the California Department of Parks and Recreation, where he held the post of District Superintendent for the San Diego Coast District from 1984 until 2001.

Mr. Navarro has been a board member of the National Hispanic Environmental Council for 10 years. He received the National Hispanic Environmental Council Leadership Award in 2001. He holds a B.S. in Environmental Planning and Management from UC Davis.
