Michelle Petroelje joined CCP in December of 2006 as a Special Consultant. She is currently conducting public outreach and education on the Lake Davis Pike Eradication Project for the California Department of Fish and Game. She assists with the Department’s educational school programs, coordinates community events, and works on groundwater issues with residents in the effected project area. Before coming to the Center, Michelle served as a Public Education/Volunteer Coordinator for a watershed group. Michelle holds a B.S. in Ecology and Systematic Biology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Her interests in environmental interpretation lead her to work for the National Park Service. Michelle returned to Cal Poly to study restoration ecology and earned her Biology M.S. in 2001. While completing her master’s degree, she worked as a field biologist surveying plants at military bases and on a revegetation project at a granite quarry.
