Budget

Budget crisis impacts the programs offered by Community Engagement Center for the 2009-2010 year.

  1. Primary focus: Service Learning, Writing Partners, Alternative Break, and Students in Service.
  2. Secondary focus: One Book Program, Constitution Week, and Compassion Capital Fund: Community Empowerment and Capacity Building for Social Equity.
  3. Tertiary focus: Read Across America and Student Leadership Internships are important for campus engagement, but because of budget constraints these program may or may not be included.

How furloughs and Budget impact Community Engagement Center:

    • Community Engagement Center runs on small grants and lottery.
    • Searching for more grants to keep Community Engagement Center running.
    • Advisory members can support by advocating Community Engagement Center programs.
