During Alternative Break spring 2013, 44 Sac State students volunteered 480.25 hours over the course of one to five days, serving local Sacramento communities and non-profits.

Monday, March 25 & Tuesday, March 26

28 students volunteered on Monday and 24 on Tuesday, bagging produce and canned goods, organizing clothing donations, and distributing food supplies to Sacramento household. View Photos >>

Wednesday, March 27

17 volunteers cleared brush and painted recreation areas around the grounds of this school for adults with mental and physical developmental disabilities. View Photos >>

Placer SPCA
Thursday, March 28

11 volunteers swept raked, and weeded the grounds in order to provide a well manicured adoption facility and safe areas for animal socialization. This day provided volunteers with a little more down time to recover from the rest of the busy week, but volunteers still managed to add washing SPCA vehicles, folding animal bedding, and stuffing enrichment toys to their list of accomplishments!

17 volunteers did a whole lot of heavy lifting picking up the grounds, demolishing old structures, and preparing lumber to be used for this horse rescue and rehabilitation facility's upcoming barn building project. View Photos >>
