During Alternative Break spring 2011, 33 Sac State students volunteering over the course of one to four days, contributed a total 300 hours of service to local Sacramento communities and non-profits.

Meals on Wheels by ACC
Monday, March 21, and Thursday, March 24, 2011

Twelve volunteers on Monday and eleven on Thursday helped prepare and package meals for senior citizens. In total, volunteers prepared an estimated 9150 individual fruit cup servings and 4100 meals, and packed 9000 meals (6750 meals into five packs and 2250 meals into 10 packs). View Photos >>

Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services

Twenty-one volunteers helped set up tables, bag and distribute food, and assist guests at a SFBFS Mobile Food Distribution site. Volunteers served 125 households (a total of 467 people). View Photos >>

Harvest Sacramento
Friday, March 25, 2011

Ten students joined Harvest Sacramento volunteers in volunteers in picking and boxing fruit from residential fruit trees in local Sacramento neighborhoods. 919 pounds of fresh fruit were gleaned and donated to Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS). View Photos >>
