During Sac State Alternative Break, participants provide much needed services to diverse communities, while helping students build skills and develop great friendships.

Alternative Break is a short term commitment. You can choose to work from one day to all week, depending on your availability. We hope you consider working with us the whole week.

ALTERNATIVE BREAK

Join us this spring for service benefitting two local non profits in the Sacramento Region.  Register online to volunteer one or more days.  Snacks, lunch, and a t-shirt will be provided once you register. More information will be provided via email.

Wellspring Women's Center: (10 volunteers max each day) 
March 23 - 27, 2015
7:00am- Noon

Wellspring Women's Center provides women and children free healthy meals in a safe environment Monday through Friday. Join us as we help prepare and serve food and volunteer at the Kids Corner.

​Oak Park SOL Community Garden: (15 volunteers max each day)
March 23 - 27, 2015
Noon-5:00pm​​

​Oak Park SOL Community Garden is a neighborhood garden that needs some assistance. Be a part of creating a new Welcome area, planting fresh flowers, creating a Children's Garden and building an outdoor kitchen for the community of Oak Park to enjoy.

Lunch will be provided by Associated Students, Inc. A-Team.

The Community Engagement Center (CEC) serves as a liaison between faculty, students and community-based organizations.  CEC connects both campu and community through Service Learning, Community Service and Civic Engagement programs.  Current programs include: Writing Partners at Sac State, Sac State Alternative Break, Sac State Volunteers, and Constitution and Civic Engagement Week.
