I Want to be a Community Partner
The Community Engagement Center works closely with local non-profits, schools, business and government agencies to build long-term, sustainable partnerships that promote service and engagement for Sacramento State students, faculty, staff and alumni.
Community partners can collaborate with Sacramento State faculty and students in the following ways:
- Service Learning - community partners complement faculty teaching by linking community-based experiences with classroom-based learning. Service learning students can work with your organization in terms of direct service (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, etc.) and/or through project-based learning (e.g. the development of databases or websites, writing a grant or a marketing plan, etc.).
- Community Service
- Sac State Volunteers - provides short-term, one-day opportunities for students, faculty, staff and alumni to volunteer their time to work with various community partners.
- Alternative Break - a program where students can participate in service projects during spring and winter breaks each year.
If your organization is interested in working with any of our programs above, please contact Francine Redada, Partnership/Program Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
