Service learning promotes student learning through active participation in meaningful, education-focused community service experiences. Students enhance their understanding of course content, sense of civic    responsibility, and self-awareness, while meeting important community needs.

Sac State Serves is a community service program open to the campus community. Faculty, staff, students, and alumni are invited to take part in local, single-day service projects throughout the year.

Alternative Break engages students in short-term, community-based service projects. Sac State students provide much needed service to diverse communities in the region, while building skills and great friendships.

Writing Partners @ Sacramento State is a multidisciplinary service learning program. Sac State students partner with local K-12 students to increase literacy skills and enhance awareness of community and educational issues.

US Constitution and Quill Pen

Constitution Week

Constitution Week engages the campus in a series of events exploring the US Constitution and contemporary issues. This collaborative project takes place annually in September.
