Service Learning Students
Community Engagement Center is continuing implementation of a pre-service and post-service online assessment tool examining student attitudes, perceptions, and experiences in service learning courses and programs. Students, please complete the pre service survey before beginning the service experience. Please complete the post service survey once you complete your service experience.
Service Learning - Student Survey
UPDATE spring 2011: the pre/post service learning survey will not be conducted for spring 2011. Students will not be required to complete the survey this semester.
Service Learning Faculty:
As part of our ongoing effort to improve the service learning experiences of students at Sacramento State, we are asking faculty members who have partnered with Community Engagement Center to assist us with student assessment. This assessment will examine student attitudes, perceptions, and experiences in service learning courses and programs on our campus.
Students will be asked to fill out a series of pre- and post-questionnaires, with each set of questionnaires taking up to approximately 15 minutes of their time. We are asking students to take the pre-questionnaires at the beginning of your service learning class or program and the post-questionnaires prior to the completion of your class or program. The questionnaires can be accessed on an on-line assessment service called StudentVoice, a private company contracted by California State University, Sacramento.
By having students participate in this assessment, we hope to gain additional insight into the attitudes, perceptions, and experiences of students involved in service learning activities on campus. This information will also help us to improve our efforts to bring greater awareness and visibility to service learning activities to our faculty and students. Upon request, we will provide you with information concerning any changes your students may have experienced in relation to academics, civic responsibility, career, and empowerment in your service learning class or program.
We ask that you inform your students about this assessment and provide a link to the on-line questionnaires.
