How Do I Find My Classrooms?
Easy! At first the campus layout may seem large and confusing, but in a few short weeks, you'll be navigating campus like a pro. Here are a few tips to get you started.
First, make sure that you visit campus and walk around its various quads and interior areas. Most new students have come to campus more than once before they start classes. You can arrange a campus tour at help you get acquainted with academic buildings, the library, and many student-focused facilities. Click here for more information.
Second, attend the mandatory New Student Orientation (not only is it a good idea, it's required). At Orientation, you'll get a ton of useful information and meet many of your fellow students, register for your classes, and have another opportunity to take a campus tour. It is really helpful to take the orientation tour with your class schedule in-hand. That way, you can mark the buildings that hold your classes. If you have questions, your Orientation Leaders will be right there to help you. If any of your classrooms are not listed, go see the department offering that class (for example, if you don't see a location for your biology class, go to the Biology Department to ask where the class will meet). Staff in the department office will likely be able to give you a good idea of where your class will meet once it begins.
There is also help on-line. Visit the campus Visitors Center to get familiar with the general campus. And hey, you can always ask someone. Everyone at Sac State is very friendly and willing to help you. So donít be shy!
