How can faculty and staff help me?

As a Sacramento State student, we encourage you to get to know faculty and staff early and to connect with them often. Such connections help build a strong foundation for your success here at Sac State and beyond.
There are a variety of ways you can establish strong relationships with faculty on campus. One simple way is to talk with your faculty—in fact, you may have heard faculty have a special time called "office hours" that are reserved just for talking with students. We encourage students to visit with faculty members during office hours and to ask questions about classes, to learn about career opportunities, and to perhaps find that your professor could be more than just your teacher—he or she could be a mentor or even a friend.
While you are connecting with faculty, don't stop there. You'll find many staff members ready to help you meet your educational goals. Reach out, and you'll find help and support waiting for you.

Here is a list of programs specially designed to help connect you with your faculty!
