Prof. Julie Figueroa

Dr. Figueroa joins the department in fall 2004. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in Education--Social & Cultural Studies. Dr. Figueroa's area of interest are Sociocultural perspectives on minority schooling experiences, particularly chicanos in higher education, responsive teaching practices in a cultural context, and understanding the impacts of teaching and learning in urban schools in relationship to policy theory and practice.
