Teaching For Change

College of Education Scholarships and Grants

The College of Education is privileged to award over 60 scholarships to deserving and meritorious students each year. Behind each of these scholarships is a unique and individual story. Often these scholarships represent a family or organization’s wish to honor the legacy of a colleague’s work, the life of a loved one, or their own wish to contribute in a meaningful way to their community. Regardless of the motivation of the donor, the College of Education could not continue its work of preparing future education professionals without the commitment and generosity of our donors.

Creating a Scholarship Endowment
Scholarships change lives

Without such support, many of our students would be unable to complete their teaching training program. By endowing a scholarship, you create opportunities for these students to enter the field of education. The magnitude of your gift also extends beyond our students. It touches the lives of the hundreds of children that will benefit from having this individual as a teacher, a counselor, a principal, or an education specialist.

Please consider joining the special group of individuals who endow education scholarships to help students realize their dreams.

If you would like information about creating a scholarship endowment with the College of Education, please contact Kevin Gonzalez by email at kevin.gonzalez@csus.edu or phone at (916) 278-6290.

Better Together Partnership Awards

The College of Education has a long history of honoring members of the region’s educational, nonprofit, governmental, and business community for their efforts and contributions on behalf of our area’s children and families. Year after year, we are pleased to share the extraordinary stories about individuals who dedicate their efforts to improving the state of local schools and districts.

We are privileged to honor local educators, school administrators, businesses, nonprofit organizations, community/government agencies, and individuals who have made significant contributions to local public education with the Better Together – A Partnership of Education, Business & Community Awards. The theme “Better Together” communicates our belief that it takes a total community effort to meet the exceptional challenges facing public education today.

Recipients selected for their work in the community will be honored at the College of Education’s annual recognition reception.

The deadline for nominations for the 2016 ceremony is April 15, 2016.
