Job Title: Student Intern
Duties: A student Intern will assist with two project areas:

1) Watershed protection programs for dring water and

2) Stromwater pollution prevention programs

  • Research, data tracking and analysis
  • Writing reports, correspondence, and memos.
  • Creation of and data entry into spreadsheets and databases.
  • Assist with public outreach programs, and presentations at meetings.
  • Field support, including site visits, opinion surveys, and water quality sampling.
  • Computer support, including assistance with website.
  • General office assistance, and other related tasks as needed.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Possession of a current valid California Class C driver license and auto insurance.
  • City of Sacramento is looking for a student interested in a internship for longer than one semester.
  • Students must sent in a writing sample when applying for this position.
Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of software such as WordPerfect, MS Word, Quattro Pro, Excel, MS Access, and PageMaker.
  • Strong communicationskills, including writing and public speaking.
  • Able to plan, organize and prioritize work and be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently or in a team environment.
  • Abale to follow instructios, and maintain good work habits.
  • Possess a positive and friendly attitude.
    Must be enrolled 6 semester units and overall GPA of 2.0.
Salary: $7.56-$12.88/hour, depending on class standing and experience.
Deadline: August 24, 2001
Hours per week: Part-time, 18-20 hrs./week, flexible schedule, full-time available during summer and winter breaks.
