Company Name: Capitol Area Development Authority (CADA)

Job Title: Summer Co-op (possibly two positions)  
Duties:
  • Historic demographic profile of the CAP Area from 1950 to the present using each decennial census. Profiles would include, at a minimum, the population, income, ethnicity, age, etc.
  • Projected demographic profile based upon recent changes; profile "new residents" to the CAP Area.
  • Parcel data download to Excel. Use pivot tables and sorts as needed (starting with R Street).
  • Organize a communications binder to include an overall PR Strategy,
    Media kit (Historical Fact Sheet, Schedule of Development Activities, Biographical Backgrounds on Key Personnel, Page of Isolated Facts) and Crisis Communication Plans.
  • Windshield/walking surveys or property and infrastructure conditions with digital photos.
  • Writing and administering a tenant (and commercial tenant) survey
  • Provide general assistance to CADA development projects, including R Street planning work, East End Gateway, Fremont Mews and the Warehouse.
 
Qualifications:
  • Some knowledge or familiarity with housing development issues/practices.
  • Some knowledge or familiarity with local, state and federal housing financing programs.
  • Interest in construction management and remediation.
  • Computer skills to include Word and Excel. Desirable skills in Arcview (geomapping).
  • Effective oral and written communications
  • Organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Provide administrative assistance as needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Maintaining physical condition necessary for performance of assigned duties including walking, standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time; some climbing and stooping.
 
Pay Rate: Approximately $10/hr  
Deadline: ASAP (startdate: summer)  
Hours per week: 20-40 hrs/week depending on assignment and availability
