- Be honest
- Write your own resume
- Don't write "RESUME" at the top of page
- Minimize personal information
- Place most important information first
- Don't give all experience equal billing
- Don't include starting salary
- Use bullet statements
- Use action verbs
- Avoid abbreviations
- Avoid using first person "I"
- Make sure spelling and grammar are perfect
- Don't exceed one page
- Use size 10 or 12 point
- Use white bond paper
- Update your resume each semester
- Proofread, Proofread, Proofread!
