Reference Page
General Guidelines
Prepare a separate reference page at the same time that you prepare your resume. (Do not include a list of your references on your resume.) List names of professional people who can speak about your work ethic, your skills and strengths, your academic performance, your character, your ability to get along with other people, etc. This list can include supervisors, managers, mentors, professors, counselors, coaches, or anyone who knows you well enough to recommend you to a potential employer. Usually 3-5 references are given. Before you list someone as a reference, make sure you get his/her permission.
For each reference include complete contact information-name, title, company/organization, work address, phone number, and email address.
At the top of your reference page, list the same information that you have at the top of your resume.
Note: It is a good idea to take a copy of your reference page with you to your interviews.
