Sample Follow-up Letter

If you don't hear from a company within two or three weeks of submitting your resume or interviewing with them, you should follow-up with a phone call or, if you don't have a phone number, a follow-up letter. It is recommended that you send follow-up letters to company representatives you talk with at career fairs.

Dear Ms. Recruiter:

I enjoyed talking to you at the Health and Biological Sciences Career Fair at UC Davis three weeks ago about your laboratory assistant position. As I mentioned, I have excellent laboratory skills, including HPLC and gel preparations. I am very interested in the work that is being done at Enticing Labs and am still eager to interview for the position. Please call me at (916) 555-1975. Thank you very much  for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
