The mission of the Center will be accomplished through the following objectives:
To provide an educative and scholarly service to the University community, regional educational institutions, the local public, and to the broader Sacramento Region
To provide resources to enhance the role of ethics education in the curriculum through sponsoring Ethics Across the Curriculum workshops for faculty in all disciplines for which ethics is a concern
To sponsor a regular colloquium series which brings scholars and community members together to better understand the ethical implications of various public policy initiatives, legislation and ballot measures, as well as to facilitate a greater awareness of ethics in our daily personal and professional lives
To be available as a community resource and clearinghouse for ethics information, consultancy, and education
To foster and develop opportunities for faculty research in practical and professional ethics
To foster and develop opportunities for faculty and student collaboration in research in practical and professional ethics
To foster and develop opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration in both research and teaching in the areas of practical and professional ethics.
