Students from any discipline/field are eligible. The winners will be judged by a panel consisting of members from the university and broader community. The three top placed essays will be presented at the closing public plenary, at which their awards and prizes will be given.

This is an excellent opportunity for students around the campus to demonstrate their interest and acumen in the area of ethics.

Closing Plenary: Tuesday Evening, April 29th, 2008, Ballroom of University Union. Public presentation of the winning papers by the authors, all are welcome. Followed by a reception in honor of all the essay writers. Presentations begin at 7pm. All are welcome, this event is free and open to the public.

Writing Guidelines:
Essays may be written in any discipline, but must be on an ethical topic related to the annual theme.

There is neither a minimum nor maximum required length, but preference will be given to the fullest and richest examination of the declared topic. Generally, essays should be written in MLA or Chicago style, with complete citations and references, including bibliography of sources used.

Of course, plagiarism or other violations of academic intergrity committed in the course of this competition will result in disqualification -- this is an ethics activity, afterall!
