Where Jobs Are Located and How to Find Them

Step 1: Go to jobs.ca.gov
Step 2: Create profile and input all necessary information
Step 3: Search job posting for potential positions worth applying for
Step 4: Research departments and agencies you are interested in applying to
Step 5: Find exam bulletin and complete exam (highest score possible is 95%
Step 6: Complete supplemental application material requested in job posting
Step 7: Print out completed STD 678 form with titled of position and job posting number you are applying for typed in “Examination or job Title(s) you are applying”. Type in “List Eligible” in the Explanation towards the bottom of page one.
Step 8: Submit all materials and apply as directed on job posting (typically by mail)
Step 9: Make contact and follow up with department/agency you applied to
