Students: On-Campus Recruitment

Fortune 500 companies, top accounting firms, government agencies, and other well-known organizations come to Sacramento State each semester to interview Sacramento State students and alumni for internships and full time, entry level, professional positions. The program's mission is to assist students in securing interviews and professional opportunities while also assisting employers in selecting the most qualified candidates to fill vacant career-related positions.

These interviews take place in the Sacramento State Career Center, located in Lassen Hall 1013. In order to participate in our On-Campus Recruitment program, please carefully follow the instructions below:

Career Connection Instructions

Step 1: Register for Career Connection

  • Go to Career Connection new user registration page
  • Enter username (this will be your SacLink ID)
  • Enter temporary registration password (sacramento)
  • Create student account (update password ASAP)

Step 2: Sign up for and attend mandatory OCR Orientation Workshop

  • Login to Career Connection
  • Click on the Events & Workshops tab
  • Click Workshops
  • Click RSVP on the OCR Orientation Workshop date that you wish to attend
  • Attend OCR Orientation Workshop

In the event that you are unable to attend an OCR Orientation Workshop during the scheduled times, you may access the workshop here. Please note that you are highly encouraged to attend the live workshop as you will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with our Employer Relations Liaison to discuss strategies and tips on securing interviews and networking with employers.

On-Campus Recruitment Tips

Check your Career Connection account regularly to ensure that account information is up-to-date:

  • Graduation Date
  • Major
  • Overall & Major GPA
  • Work Authorization

Utilize drop-in appointments at the Career Center to have your resume reviewed, to prepare a cover letter, or to seek advice regarding your interview

  • Drop-in hours: Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Lassen Hall 1013

Schedule an hour appointment with a Career Counselor for a mock interview

  • Contact the Career Center at 916.278.6231 to schedule an hour-long appointment

Do additional research on the organization you are interviewing with. Dress professionally on the day of your interview; bring extra copies of your resume and any additional documents requested by the recruiter. After the interview, send thank you letters to each of the recruiters that interviewed you.
