Check your CSUS records to see how you are
declared. If you are not declared a business major/minor, and want to be,
obtain a “Change of Status Petition” in the DPC and return it prior to the deadline to the DPC
with copies of all college transcripts (except CSUS).
Please note: Until the Computer Literacy and Pre-Major
requirements are completed (see the college catalog under Business Administration
Major Requirements), you will be declared a PRE-MAJOR to BUSINESS.
When enrolled in the last of the Pre-Major requirements, you must file a
Change of Status Petition in the DPC to officially request Business Administration
as your major for the following semester.
Seeing a Business Counselor is strongly recommended. Please read
your catalog carefully. Once you have declared business as your
major and after you have received your transfer “G.E. Evaluation” from
the Evaluations Office, you should come to the DPC for advising which
is available during regular office hours (please bring your copies of
grades). Counselors can assist you with program planning, transfer course
evaluations, concentration requirements, graduation, etc.
CBA Academic Counselors are available in the DPC to assist you with major
program planning. Faculty are available, by concentration, to assist you
with concentration course selection and career planning. You can pick
up a list of faculty in the DPC. General Education information can be
obtained from advisors in the Academic Advising Center and in the Evaluations Office in Lassen Hall.
Yes. All transfer students enrolling in the CBA must provide a copy of
transcripts, in chronological order, from all previously attended colleges
and universities. If you are transferring from a non-articulated school
and wish to transfer credit for courses within the major, you will be
required to submit additional course information for evaluation to the
DPC. When this information is completed, you will receive a Business Major
Program Review (a summary of your standing in Business).
Consult the center section in the Schedule of Classes to determine your
catalog rights. Contact the DPC to see if more current programs could
benefit you.
Obtain a “Change of Status Petition” in
the DPC, or download it from the Handouts and Forms page on this website, and return it to the DPC.

Yes. All transfer students enrolling in the CBA must provide a copy of transcripts, in chronological order, from all previously
attended colleges and universities.
If you are transferring from a non-articulated school and wish to transfer credit for courses within the major, you will be required to submit additional
course information for evaluation to the DPC. When this information is completed, you will receive a Business Major Program Review
(a summary of your standing in Business).
First, we need to determine whether you are eligible to take the course (i.e., are you coded Business, not Pre-Business?).
If you are eligible to take the course, you must stop by the appropriate Business Department Office (ACCY, MGMT, MIS, or OBE) on the second floor of Tahoe Hall.
If you have completed the Computer Literacy and Pre-Major Requirements, you must file a Change of Status Form in the
DPC to officially change your major from
Pre-Business to Business. This is a critical step in being able to take Upper Division classes.
Remember, the deadlines are October 1st for the following Spring Semester classes , and March 1st for the following Fall Semester.
