North Star

Synopsis: An incident with a taxi driver triggers Aurelia Taylor’s memory of growing up a little Black girl in North Carolina in the 1960s. She recalls star gazing with her father while trying to convince her mother to let her participate in the lunch counter sit-ins. North Star follows a young girl’s coming of age journey as she finds freedom within herself. The entire family will enjoy this moving production.

Loose Knit

Synopsis: An edgy, humorous and modern portrayal of five diverse women as they navigate their way through life and all its trials and tribulations. The women, through a weekly knitting group, develop a bond that is reminiscent of “Sex and the City,” while metaphorically and literally “stitching” their way through the joys and disappointments of getting older, finding love and discovering happiness.

The Afghan Women

Synopsis: This remarkable modern day tale takes place in post-Taliban Afghanistan and involves the struggles of an Afghan-American doctor who oversees an orphanage and works to bring a new order to the country in the wake of current events. Her confrontation with an Afghan warlord sharply defines the ways of the past set against the prospects for the future.

This celebration of Broadway, set in the 1930’s, focuses on a small-town chorus girl who gets the chance of a lifetime when the star of the show breaks her ankle. 42nd Street boasts a stage full of young talented tappers and hoofers bringing to life legendary songs like "We're In The Money," "Shuffle Off To Buffalo" and "Lullaby of Broadway."

Lorca in a Green Dress

Synopsis: Set in a surreal afterworld where dreams and memories mingle, this is a celebration of the writer's life through profound and unique imaginings by Lorca who, after his death, attempts to re-create his own fated life using magic, mystery, dance and music. The work brings out many of Lorca’s personal political views about living in a world of corruption while maintaining his integrity as a creative artist.
