Of the 42 units, 9 are required lower division courses and 15 are required upper division courses and the remaining 18 units (6 courses) are upper division electives. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with an advisor and fill out a Major Advising Worksheet. Planning your Economics Minor:

As specified in the 2002-2004 catalog, students minoring in Economics need to complete a minimum of 21 units. Out of the 21 units, 9 units are lower division Economics units and the remaining 12 must be upper division Economics units.

Catalog Rights:

Over the years, there have been some changes to the Economics Program at CSUS. Requirements may vary between catalog years in terms of both the Economics BA Program and the total unit requirement for graduation. Please let your advisor know your catalog year. Access online catalog here.

Graduation:

Students must apply for graduation one year in advance of their planned graduation date.

Graduation applications must be reviewed by an advisor. You need to bring in your completed form to an advisor and then take the form to the cashier's office and pay your application fee.

Students who have submitted their graduation application but wish to make changes to the upper division electives listed on their application - need to complete a Course Substitution form and submit it to Admissions and Records for processing. Remember: You can always list your upper division electives that you have yet to take making conditional notations - just to be on the safe side. For example, you may want to take Sports Econ and you list it as your upper division elective only to find later, that it's cancelled. If you list Sports Econ - you can also list another upper division elective (with your advisor's consent) on your form. Put under upper division electives to be taken: Sports Econ OR (then list another upper division elective that has been approved by your advisor).
