Economic Tutoring

Students wishing to receive help from a peer for Econ 1a and/or Econ 1b are welcome to come to the tutor room, Tahoe Hall 3025. Tutors will be there on:

 Spring 2008 Tutoring Hours:

Monday:                            8:00-10:00 - Slim

                                   10:00-11:00 - Andrew

                                             1:30-3:30 - Andrew

                                     3:30-5:30 - Vanessa   

Tuesday:                            11:00 -1:00 - Caryn   

                                             3:00-6:00 - Jon   

Wednesday:                   10:00-11:00 - Andrew

                                     5:00-6:00 - Helena

Those interested in tutoring should contact the Department of Economics Vice Chair .

Tutor Qualifications

  • Completion of 1A, 1B, 100A, and 100B with a minimum grade of 'B' in each.
  • A recommendation (written or verbal) from a Department faculty member.

Tutor Responsibilities

  • Tutor two hours per week for each academic unit of credit
  • Provide tutoring for students in principles level classes only
  • Meet scheduled tutor hours, informing the Assistant Chair if an hour must be missed
  • Provide tutoring in a professional and congenial manner
  • Consult with the Vice Chair should any problem arise
