Intermountain Graduate Conference
On behalf of the Intermountain Graduate Conference committee,
I am pleased to announce a call for papers for the 4th annual Intermountain
Graduate Conference, "Remapping Intellectual Spaces," to
take place in Logan, Utah at Utah State University (USU), April 4,
2008. In addition to sessions, the conference will include a luncheon
and keynote speaker Rick LeBrasseur, professor of Landscape Architecture
and Environment Planning from Utah State University. He is the Sumner
Margetts Swaner Professor and director of the Green Space Institute.
The Conference Committee invites abstracts from graduate students
in the Humanities. We welcome scholarly or creative papers on a wide
range of topics: liminal spaces in literature to cultural and social
implications of new media; from representation and interpretation
in art history to boundaries of gender studies; from social and anthropological
history of urban planning to future territories of ecocriticism; from
disputed turf claims in pop culture to experimental multi-genre works
of creative writing. ALL abstracts will be considered. Papers may
be submitted individually, but panel submissions are also encouraged.
Abstracts must be postmarked by February 1, 2008.
Abstracts may be sent via email to igc.usu@gmail.com.
This conference is an occasion to showcase current work being done
by graduate students in all areas of the Humanities and provides a
welcoming and supportive venue for them to share their research and
work.
Please find attached a formal call for papers. Should you prefer not
to open an attachment, these documents can also be found on our website
at http://english.usu.edu/sage. On behalf of the entire Conference
committee, I invite your graduate students to join us for this exciting
event and ask that you please encourage their attendance.
