Karen Lee Warmdahl Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship has been created by Karen Lee Warmdahl's
family in memory of their daughter, a former CSUS English major who
"had a great love of words" and pursued a career in publishing
arid writing before her untimely death. The scholarship award of $500.00
is intended to "recognize and encourage an English major who
shows special talent in creative writing, poetry, and/or literature."
Eligibility Requirements:
- submit a minimum of two brief samples of the student's prose or
poetry (10 pp. maximum)
- a one-page statement explaining "why the student has chosen
English as his or her major and how the applicant hopes to use the
English degree once he or she graduates"
- a minimum gpa of 3.0
- be a senior and enrolled at least half-time (6-11 units)
- has completed at least 90 units at the time of the application
- submit an official transcript and two letters of recommendation
from CSUS English professors
Applications will be accepted until
Wednesday, March 20, in CLV
103, and the award will be presented at the English Department Graduation
Ceremony in May.
