Elizabeth Keith Olmstead Memorial Scholarship

Professor Robert Olinstead and his wife have created this scholarship in memory of Professor Olmstead's mother, former librarian of Wellesley College, collector of books, and lover of reading. It is intended to recognize an outstanding English major who has demonstrated a special talent in the study of literature.

Availability

This award is not being offered for Spring 2012.

Award

$2,000 ($1,000 per semester for two semesters)

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.5
    • The award winner must maintain a minimum 3.5 overall GPA to receive the award for the second semester.
  • must be undergraduate English majors with a minimum of 90 units completed toward graduation (senior standing)
  • must be enrolled full time (12+ units)

How to Apply

Applicants must submit all of the following materials to Calaveras 103 by the department deadline:

  • English department Scholarship Applicant Information Form
  • a statement of purpose of no more than 500 words
  • two letters of recommendation from CSUS professors
  • official transcripts for all college coursework
  • a self-addressed, 8 ½" by 11" envelope
