Outdoor Recreation
Many people in Sacramento engage in various outdoor recreational activities, many of which can be done within a 100 mile radius of the California State University, Sacramento campus.
The CSUS Student Association makes getting outdoors fun and easy through their Peak Adventures program. Peak Adventures has a variety of lead group activities in addition to gear and equipment rentals. It is open to everyone, but they do offer trips and gear rentals at a discounted rate for students. Peak Adventures has a lot to offer and is a good way to meet people with similar outdoor interests.
Below you will find a list of other outdoor recreational links. The list is only provided as a tool for those unsure about recreational opportunities in the Sacramento region.
As Environmental Studies majors, many students understand the ethic of No Trace camping and outdoor land use. All who engage in outdoor activities are encouraged to practice the No Trace Ethic to ensure that the places that are visited are left in the pristine condition that they were found.
