Patrick James Dugal Scholarship
To honor the memory of Patrick James Dugal, the Dugal family has established a scholarship for students pursuing a profession in the Environmental Studies field.
Patrick was a full-time CSUS student working toward a degree in Environmental Studies. He was a serious student who was involved in the community and had a strong commitment to environmental matters. He has been described by his professors as a bright presence, cheerful, friendly, optimistic, articulate and dedicated. Patrick lost his courageous battle against cancer in January 2005.
We will award up to three $5000 scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year. See the full announcement here.
Available to Environmental Studies Majors of Junior or Senior status.
Student must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA.
Student must be enrolled full time at the time of award disbursement.
Student must submit completed application and an essay of up to 300 words describing the environmental issue s/he cares about the most, his/her professional goals, and how the scholarship will help the attainment of those goals.
Scholarship applications can be turned in to Amador Hall 554A.
Spring 2015 Dugal Scholar
Austyn Cromartie, ENVS senior, was awarded the Dugal scholarship for Spring 2015. She is interested in environmental justice and plans to earn a Masters in Urban Planning, working as an environmental planner doing risk management for lower income areas and developing sustainable land use for these regions. Congratulations, Austyn!
