COAST Student Travel Funding for Sac State Students
The CSU Council on Ocean Affairs, Science & Technology (COAST)Student Travel Award program provides travel support for CSU undergraduate and graduate students to present the results of original marine and coastal-related research at scientific meetings and conferences. COAST has reserved funding for Sac State students for travel occurring before June 30, 2015 and Environmental Studies students are strongly encouraged to apply. Patrick James Dugal Scholarship
To honor the memory of Patrick James Dugal, the Dugal family has established a scholarship for students pursuing a profession in the Environmental Studies field.
Patrick was a full-time CSUS student working toward a degree in Environmental Studies. He was a serious student who was involved in the community and had a strong commitment to environmental matters. He has been described by his professors as a bright presence, cheerful, friendly, optimistic, articulate and dedicated. Patrick lost his courageous battle against cancer in January 2005.
Applications for 2015-2016 are welcomed at any time, and one or more students will be selected to receive a scholarship for tuition and books.
Scholarship Application: Patrick James Dugal Memorial Scholarship Application
Available to Environmental Studies Majors of Junior or Senior status.
Student must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA.
Student must be enrolled full time at the time of award disbursement (Fall 2014).
Student must submit completed application and a 600 word essay in which the applicant describes the environmental issue s/he cares about the most, his/her professional goals, and how the scholarship will help the attainment of those goals.
