Transfer Learning Community
To make Sacramento State a place where you feel at home, EOP has developed a program called Learning Communities. An EOP Learning Community is a small group of transfer students (20) and faculty who all work and learn together in a community atmosphere. Students are placed (administratively by EOP) in the courses 1-day prior to their scheduled Orientation date. Transfer students must have confirmed their interest in participating in this community with EOP prior to their Fall 2011 enrollment. The focus of the community will be on an exploration of multicultural America along with an investigation of biracial and multiracial identities. Learning together students will acquire the knowledge and skills to understand cultural issues in a broader sense while learning about their own cultural identities. The courses in the learning community will also enable students to learn about career development and planning, as well as allow for the acquisition of skills needed to be successful in college and life beyond college through the Ethnic 198 course.
This Learning Community will complete 6 of the REQUIRED 9 units of upper division GE courses which must be completed in residence at Sacramento State.
