SacWorldFest

SacWorldFest - the celebration of cultural diversity through music and dance - and Sacramento State announce a dynamic new partnership that will move the annual fall festival to the Sac State campus. "We're thrilled to partner with Sacramento State and expand the popular SacWorldFest event to a weeklong celebration this year," says Steve Hammond, president and CEO of the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau. "Many of the SacWorldFest activities will happen on the Sac State campus, which significantly expands the festival's offerings and opens the door to exciting new possibilities to engage entirely new audiences."

The Arts
The Department of Music hosts performances by Sacramento State faculty and students as well as invited performers throughout the year, including choirs, jazz, and bands. Click here for further information on upcoming performances.

Community Engagement Center
Sacramento State’s Community Engagement Center (CEC) provides assistance for service learning and co-sponsors a number of community-related events on and off campus.
CEC’s program Sac State Serves offers opportunities for service and volunteering in partnership with a number of community organizations and schools. Events have included St. John’s Shelter Program, Ronald McDonald House, and the Sacramento Food Bank. Click here for an ongoing list of community service opportunities in the Sacramento area.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
Sacramento State’s Center for STEM Excellence hosts Stem Scholars Public Lectures and a USGS sponsored Geology/Ecology/Environmental Studies Seminars, all of which are open to the public. Click here for information on fall 2014 STEM events.
Expanding Your Horizons, a partnership between Sacramento State and the Women of AT&T, is a one-day science and math conference for 6th-8th grade girls, empowering them to pursue STEM-related education and careers. The event this year is on October 11.

Youth and Family Events on Campus

The campus calendar lists the wide variety of upcoming events, and the campus and community are invited.

UNIQUE Programs is a Sac State student volunteer group that brings innovative, quality entertainment to campus in the University Union. UNIQUE provides such events as concerts, films, cultural affairs and major lectures.
