Sac State honors thousands of new grads at Commencement

Happy Grad The latest class of proud Sacramento State graduates crossed the stage May 18-19 during Spring Commencement ceremonies at Golden 1 Center.

A record 6,600 students – including graduates, pending summer graduates, and credential candidates – were eligible to walk in the grand celebration.

President Robert S. Nelsen acknowledged the graduates’ years of hard work and dedication, and recognized friends, family members, and faculty for their support. He also expressed his appreciation for military veterans among the grads, and he cheered for those who are the first in their families to earn a college degree.

“We are a united, inclusive Hornet Family,” Nelsen said. “Today, graduates, thanks to the faculty, your family and friends, you truly are Made at Sac State.
