The Financial Aid & Scholarship Office helps students and in many cases their families to search for, apply, receive and maintain eligibility for various types of financial aid. Financial aid education is offered through individual counseling, campus marketing activities and group presentations. Staff also undertake research and resolution of individual student issues. The office strives to provide timely and accurate financial aid processing that is in full compliance with all federal, state and university regulations.
Our office staff includes the Customer Service Counter in the Financial Aid Office & the Student Services Counter at Admissions, the Processing and Awarding Unit, the Counseling Unit and Systems. We are here to help you!

Processing and Awarding Unit
Administers most aid programs, processes financial aid documents and packages awards for all financial aid applicants.
The Counseling Unit
Provides drop-in counseling to students needing additional assistance, reviews and processes special aid programs, including those listed in additional services.

When emailing us, please allow up to 5 business days for a response. Make sure that all your documents have your Sacramento State ID on each page. You should check out Financial Aid TV where answers to your questions are available 24 hours a day through our video segments. You can also refer to the Financial Aid website as a resource, check the FAQ's, and check your My Sac State messages to find your answer.
At the start of every term, we extend our office hours to accommodate returning students. Office hours are generally extended during the first week of the start of the term (excludes winter and summer sessions).
