Cost of Attendance

Student budgets, also known as Cost of Attendance (COA), are designed to provide students with a projection of reasonable costs to attend school for a nine month school period. The student budgets below are estimated costs to attend Sacramento State for one academic year. Your individual circumstances (costs), discretionary expenses, or spending styles may not be the same as the COA.

Your financial need (need-based aid) is determined by subtracting your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) from the Cost of Attendance.  The EFC is the federally-determined amount that you and your family are expected to contribute toward your education based on the information provided on the FAFSA or Dream Act application.  This does not imply that a cash contribution is expected.

COA - EFC = Financial Need

Payment Options

The due date for your tuition fees will be based on the day you register for your first class.  Due dates and amounts are visible the day after registering.  Log into your My Sac State Student Center, under Finances choose the Account Inquiry link and then select the activity tab. For more information visit Student Financial Services Center for payment options (i.e.  installment payment plan).

Students receiving financial aid may be eligible for a fee deferment which postpones payment of tuition fees generally through the 2nd week from the start of the term. If your financial aid does not disburse by the fee deferment deadline, you are responsible for payment of the tuition fees.
